(Kayan Commercial Holding Group), in partnership with Turkey’s MYB Construction Company, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Syrian Investment Authority’s Raqqa Branch to establish and develop the Raqqa Industrial & Crafts City, as part of the Raqqa Vision 2030 initiative and following the conclusion of the 24th edition of the Buildex International Construction Exhibition in Damascus.

The signing marks a significant step forward in advancing the project into its implementation phase, following the completion of preliminary agreements and the designation of Kayan Group as a principal investment and development partner alongside MYB. The partnership reflects confidence in the Group’s ability to deliver impactful development projects that generate tangible economic and social benefits for the region.

Raqqa Industrial & Crafts City to Include 3,000 Industrial and Craft Units

The Raqqa Industrial & Crafts City is considered one of the most significant development and investment projects planned for the governorate in the coming years. The project will include approximately 3,000 industrial and craft units distributed across a wide range of productive and service-oriented sectors.

The city will accommodate activities such as automotive maintenance, carpentry, aluminum works, metal fabrication, light manufacturing, traditional crafts, and numerous other trades and services required by the local market, contributing to economic growth and increased productive capacity within the governorate.

A Strategic Project to Organize the Industrial and Craft Sectors

The project aims to relocate scattered industrial and craft activities from residential neighborhoods into a dedicated, fully serviced, and professionally planned zone developed according to modern urban planning standards.

The Raqqa Industrial & Crafts City is expected to reduce congestion and noise within the city, improve operational efficiency, enhance the investment environment, and provide industrialists, craftsmen, and business owners with a modern and organized workspace.

Integrated Infrastructure and Modern Services

The city will feature a comprehensive infrastructure network, including internal roads, utility services, electricity and telecommunications networks, drainage systems, public lighting, parking facilities, and operational service areas.

In addition, the project will include a range of commercial and support facilities designed to provide a safe, efficient, and well-organized working environment that meets the requirements of modern industrial development.

Specialized Industrial Mall and Supporting Facilities

As part of the vision to establish the Raqqa Industrial & Crafts City as a fully integrated production hub, Kayan Group and its Turkish partner MYB plan to develop a specialized industrial mall dedicated to spare parts, industrial equipment, and professional supplies.

The project will also include emergency response points, medical facilities, prayer halls, rest areas, and daily service amenities to ensure a comprehensive environment that meets the needs of workers, visitors, and business owners.

Walid Hendawi: The Project Supports Raqqa’s Development and Economic Growth

Mr. Walid Hendawi, Chairman of (Kayan Commercial Holding Group), stated that the Raqqa Industrial & Crafts City represents the beginning of an important implementation phase for a strategic project aimed at serving the people of Raqqa and reorganizing industrial and craft activities within a modern and integrated environment.

He added that the project will be far more than a collection of industrial workshops and commercial units; it will be a comprehensive production and service city supported by modern infrastructure and integrated services that empower craftsmen, industrialists, and entrepreneurs.

Investment Facilities and Ownership Opportunities

Hendawi further noted that the Group intends to introduce flexible financing and ownership solutions that will enable craftsmen, industrialists, and small business owners to acquire units within the project while minimizing financial barriers and supporting long-term sustainability.

The Raqqa Industrial & Crafts City Within Kayan’s Development Strategy

The project forms part of (Kayan Projects), the Group’s broader strategy to develop sustainable economic and development initiatives across Syria, supporting reconstruction efforts, encouraging investment, and creating employment opportunities.

It also represents a practical model of public-private partnership and reflects Kayan’s commitment to delivering integrated projects that combine modern planning, advanced infrastructure, and comprehensive operational services.
