Aleppo Corniche Project Implementation: On-site works commence as part of a plan to develop one of the city’s key urban and corridors
Field works have commenced on the Aleppo Corniche Project, located along Aleppo’s Western Ring Road, marking a new phase that moves the project from studies, preparation, and planning into active on-site implementation as part of the development program led by Kayan Commercial Holding Group.
The start of field works represents a significant milestone in the project’s implementation. The development aims to transform one of Aleppo’s key urban corridors into an integrated destination combining public and green spaces with commercial, service, leisure, and investment facilities.
On-site works follow the completion of a series of preparatory and technical stages, including reviews of the project plans and implementation program with Syrian Investment Authority, alongside field follow-up activities carried out during the previous period in preparation for the gradual transition into execution.
Implementation of the Aleppo Corniche Project Begins Along the Western Ring Road
The Aleppo Corniche Project is located along the city’s Western Ring Road, extending from the Lairamoun Roundabout area toward the end of Nile Street. The corridor represents an important location within Aleppo’s broader urban development and expansion.
The project focuses on revitalising the area and transforming it into a more dynamic urban corridor through the development of open spaces and public, service, leisure, sports, and commercial facilities, enhancing both the urban and economic value of the location.
First Phase of Field Works
The current works mark the beginning of the project’s on-site implementation, with the scope of construction and development set to expand progressively in accordance with the approved master plan and implementation schedule.
According to the project plan, the first phase includes the rehabilitation and development of public spaces, landscaping and greenery works, essential infrastructure, and the preparation of facilities and services required for the initial stages of implementation. These works will pave the way for broader development and the introduction of additional investment and service components in subsequent phases.
The project follows a phased implementation approach that aligns engineering and technical works with the requirements of the site and the overall master plan, allowing its various components to be developed systematically while maintaining integration with the wider urban and investment vision for Aleppo’s Western Bypass.
Green and Public Spaces at the Heart of the Project
The development of public spaces is a core component of the Aleppo Corniche Project. Approximately 50% of the project area is allocated to green spaces, public facilities, and shared urban spaces, reflecting an approach aimed at creating a more balanced urban environment and providing accessible open spaces for residents and visitors.
These public and green areas are integrated with the project’s investment, service, commercial, and leisure components, creating a destination that brings together public use and economic and investment activity within a unified urban development.
From Planning to On-Site Implementation
The commencement of field works marks a new stage in the implementation of the Aleppo Corniche Project, following earlier phases that included agreements, contracting, technical and engineering studies, plan reviews, and on-site preparations.
Kayan Group previously signed the project’s development and investment agreement, after which the project entered the study and implementation-preparation phase. The site subsequently witnessed a series of field visits and reviews focused on the work plan, project designs, and implementation arrangements.
With active works now underway, the project is moving into phased execution, translating the approved vision and plans into tangible development components on the ground.
